Whether your separation from the military occurred thirty years ago or last week, the sense of loss and dislocation can seem overwhelming and unmanageable. In a similar sense, those at home can feel lost or lonely when a loved one is deployed. Often the man or woman who returns is not the same. Relationships and responsibilities have changed and it can be difficult to re-connect in this changed—and sometimes unrecognizable—landscape.
Thumos provides peer support for veterans AND military family members to help ease transitions and/or refers individuals to relevant services during a time of crisis. Thumos peers are veterans and civilians, each a dedicated community member who will listen with compassion and commitment.
Thumos wants to assure that no one—veteran or family member—is left behind. Once you’ve engaged with a member of our team, he or she will follow up weekly to reinforce the connection and assist with additional needs.
